On May 9, 2017,at 6:00 P.M., the Banks Township Planning Commission will hold a series of public hearings. The goal of the first public hearing is to hear comments on a proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance on the Greenbelt language. The proposed amendment can be viewed on the Township website The second public hearing is to consider an application from, Tom Cooper and Heidi Cooper for a campground on his property located at 8642 US-31 N, in Ellsworth, MI in the area designated Rocky Top Preserve. The request is to establish a maximum of 10 campsites on the 47.438 acres parcel. This will be considered under Zoning Ordinance Section 8.02 and 8.03. The third public hearing will be to consider an application from Marvin Rubingh, for sand and gravel extraction, on his property located on 6 Mile Lake Rd, Ellsworth, MI, property ID# 05-01-00-024-001-00, and 05-01-024-002-00. This will be considered under Zoning Ordinance Section 8-12, Sand and gravel extraction.

The public hearings will be held in the Banks Township Hall located at 6520 Center Street in the lower level in Ellsworth.
